Natural Pet Care? Do You Dare to Be Different?

When I started my path to natural health I didn’t think about what I was doing or how it would be percieved by others. I simply wanted a better way and it seemed like common sense to me. And quite frankly, I’ve never been too worried about what other people think once I make my decisions. Why would we be created to live on a planet that could not support our every need? Did GOD make a mistake? It seemed logical to me to assume that our bodies are made up of natural substances and therefore could be returned to balance by a more natural lifestyle. I don’t believe that our bodies are meant to be out of balance or diseased. Same for our pets.

Over the past 20 years or so I have sought out this path for myself and my animals. When I made the decision to create Wormfree Naturally, eventually leading to Alternative Animal, I guess I was a bit niave. I had no idea just exactly what I was getting myself into. It seems that going against any mainstream thinking scares the heck out of people. We have been so brainwashed by our culture to rely on drugs and chemicals that anything outside of that insites fear. And we have plenty of people with MD’s and DVM’s after their names telling us that natural alternatives don’t work. I recently had an experience with a horse owner who called me saying that her horse had been diagnosed with worms after her vet had done a fecal exam. He suggested Panacur, which is a drug commonly used for deworming horses. She told him about Wormfree Naturally and she forwarded me an email from him with all the reasons that it wouldn’t work. She decided to think for herself and give it a try. After a a week she called me and said she had had another fecal exam done, and her horse was completely clear. Now the recommended treatment protocol for Wormfree Naturally is at least 60 days, so both of us were quite pleasantly surprised to get such dramatic results after only one week.

When I think of some commonly held beliefs that we have been living with for years I am horrified. One example that comes to mind is feeding newborn babies “formula”. Okay, let me get this straight. Manufactured, processed ingredients are better for us than our own Mother’s milk? Are we insane? That we would ever believe this is just mind boggling to me. But this is the lie that was perpertrated on the human race for years. You were considered crazy if you breastfed your children when my brothers and I were born. Where is the logic? Where is the common sense in this?

I have no idea why I am different? I have no idea why I am one to question and think for myself? Again, it just seems like common sense. I jokingly say I have a masters degree in common sense. As Alternative Animal gets more and more successful, I find my self defending my products and my beliefs. I have to admit I hadn’t thought about that. I have pet owners who really want to make the change for their pets, but their Vet is telling them “natural” doesn’t work. When time and time again they are proven wrong, for example, when they do a fecal exam after the animals has been given Wormfree Naturally, only to find that worms are non-existent. So…. “natural” doesn’t work huh? I get this too in my Natural Hoofcare practice, when people and Vets say that horses can’t be barefoot and they must have metal shoes nailed to their feet. Funny, but I have a busy practice full of horses that are barefoot in almost every horse dicipline. Horses that are trail ridden, pleasure ridden, compete and win in endurance events, hunt seat, foxhunting and dressage. So again, I am finding myself defending what seems like common sense to me.

I truly feel that it is now, more than ever, time to take back our thinking and ask does this make sense before we make decisions about our health or the health of our animals. As we head into flea and tick season here in East Tennesse pet owners find it is necessary to use flea and tick repellent. Monthly spot treatments for dogs and cats are the mainstream protocol. But have you really thought about what you are putting on your beloved pets?

I urge you to educate yourself and ask if it really makes sense to poison your pet to repel fleas and ticks.

There is a natural, alternative way to treat fleas and ticks. It might not be as convienient as a once a month treatment, but isn’t your dog or cat worth a little more of your time now, if it means thay will be around a whole lot longer and happier and healthier. I don’t know about you, but when one of my animals pass on, it is always too soon. And I would be willing to do whatever it takes to keep them happy and healthy for as long as I can. I have what I consider to be some great options at Alternative Animal. Click Here for natural flea and tick treatments.

So I ask the question again. Do you dare to be different? Do you dare think for yourself. And don’t take my word for anything. Do your own reasearch as I have. Educate yourself and then make your decision.
To you, and your pets!
